Factions and Societies

Heraklion contains hundreds of small societies, but some of them became something bigger. Something that have power and size to move or direct the world, interact with politicians, do good or evil and help to shape the world.

Wide-spread factions

Factions below have some power in every kingdom of Heraklion. Factions below are known across the entire continent and even commoners might heard of them.

Seekers

Members of Seeker organization are battle-tested and hardened retired adventurers. They hunt other, weaker adventurers to claim their items if they decide they are not worthy or they might pose a threat. They do not belong to any political power and work on part of democratic type, where leaders of organization vote what direction to take next. Any adventurer, who proves himself worthy and like-minded can join them, but the hardest part is to find their HQ, as no one knows except members, who can't speak about it.

Blue Ravens

This network of spies mostly works with powerful people they see worthy. They gather information from everyone and whenever they see something evil, corrupted, selfish etc. they contact their powerful, mostly political contacts to get rid of them - these powerful contacts then hire adventurers and send them there. They have incredible amount of contacts as they pay small wages as they hope most people will simply join for the greater good. Blue ravens are one of the oldest organization on Heraklion.

Children of the Forest

This organization of druids is the oldest organization of all. They were founded during the age of dragons by Elvenkind. Every druid that is given forest to maintain and keep is member of this organization and it is required to join every meeting. Some believe this is most powerful organization to exist, as nobody really know their numbers, power not even motivation.

Medium-spread factions

Medium spread factions are factions that are great in numbers in at least one part of continent and started or already are in other.

Red Order

Order of dark wizards from Republic of Embernam from Red Mountains. They use undead for all manual labor and there is large magocracy, some even say lichocracy as they believe all members of Red Order are liches. Red Order mostly trades with unholy items or other evil-like magical items and also provides knowledge of otherwise forbidden spells.

Order of the Golden Dragon

This Order is full of paladins who help guards, watchmen and sailors with problems. They serve as always available adventurers, because most of them are stationed in one or two cities they travel in regular intervals. Every station of these paladins have commander who also works as representative of this order. Most people see them as elite force of justice.

Silent Inquisition

This Order of mage-hunters is founded by Embernam itself. The only job of Silent Inquisition is to find, hunt and kill all mages that do not agree and follow Embernam's policy of magic. They are known for being all mutes and very competent hunters of mages.

Kingdom-spread factions

Weave Watches

Founded as protectors of Numeria's king, but they now work as protectors of every larger city. Members of this faction have dozens of ways how to stop and neutralize mage. They are known also as ,,Mages Anti-Mages". All of them are known arcane users and all of them studied abjuration magic to protect king as good as they can.

Echo of Past

In the past also known a Warriors of Hope, they are rebellion against Embernam's reign in Numeria. All those who were able to escape from the grasp of Embernam, joined. Most of the members are hidden in mountains or silent sympathizers.

Bleeding Sun

Elite Soldiers in the south, where Aldur once was. They serve to unknown master, but they sometimes leave their part of the ex-kingdom to deal with the business and they disappear again.
