Harald
With the departure of King Oswald and much of his large fleet Harald thought things would go back to normal but the king had left his young King’s Guard Hilda Grip with her fleet of newly built Battleships.
Most of the lords of the Sector which had come just to see the king were long gone as they returned to their own lordships and holdings on other worlds.
Isca was still flush with newcomer, almost half a million men and women of the Commonwealth Forces which crewed the thirty two Battleships of Task Force Bravo. More than half of those vessel had left orbit with his father to patrol the sector.
It had been almost a week since the king and queen had left Isca, and two days since his father took Hilda on patrol of the sector to push some of her new vessels to use while the rest remained in orbit to train.
Harald and his friends could watch those starships with visual aids conduct training exercises and his father had granted them premission to conduct planetary training as well and shuttles, and starfighters could been seen in the skies of Isca non stop.
Even with the departure of the king Harald did not think he had ever seen the world so busy. Stonehill Hold was still full of guests. High ranking members of the Commonwealth Forces. It was rare to see them in the Dumgarth Sector and on Isca itself as his father maintain control and peace in the King’s name, but he had welcomed the aid of the king without pretest, and Harald had been excited.
Harald had begged his father as he often did when he was about to depart Isca onboard his flagship, the Star Carrier known as ‘The Frost’. The anicent warship which had served clan Frost for hundreds of years when they still lived in the section of Furse Space that was known as the Kingdom of Fist. His father had lead them into the Void of Eriu before he along with allies such as the King of Fist and other local lords against the Commonwealth and been granted the Isca System in return for service to the Commonwealth.
His father always denied him. He had been on ‘The Frost’ many times, even a few times when it had left the Isca system, but never when his father left for patrol or to deal with pirates and raiders. The size of ‘The Frost’ made Stonehill Hold feel small to Harald.
Harald’s mother had remained behind in Stonehill Hold and stood in his father’s place. Holding court and seeing to the day to day needs of Isca as she had done so many times before.
